Claire has worked in children’s publishing for over ten years.
Having started her career as a primary school teacher and then working in educational publishing.She trained as an editor at Oxford Children’s Books under Liz Cross (now Managing and Publishing Director at David Fickling Books) and Jasmine Richards (the Founder of inclusive fiction studio, Storymix). During her four years at OUP, Claire worked with bestselling and award-winning children’s authors such as Gill Lewis, Ali Sparkes, Julia Golding and Ben Davis. She has also worked in house at Chicken House Books, where she edited books by Dan Smith, Danny Rurlander and Lucy Inglis amongst others. Now freelance, Claire continues to be just as passionate as ever about the magical world of children’s stories.
