For 15 years Beverley commissioned older fiction for Hodder Children’s Books, working with outstanding and award-winning writers – among them David Almond, Catherine Fisher, Rachel Anderson, Sarah Mussi, Tanith Lee, J. P. Buxton, Charlotte Haptie and H. L. Dennis.
She stepped down from her role at Hodder to concentrate on her author life and on mentoring new writers. Beverley has been in children’s publishing since joining Penguin in 1975. As editor, she’s been three times shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award. As author, she’s been nominated for the Carnegie medal and shortlisted for awards here and abroad.
