Created by award-winning editor Imogen Cooper, the Kick-Start Your Children’s Novel 3-Day Challenge draws on Imogen’s decades of experience as a children’s book editor. At the end of the three days you will have constructed a framework for your children’s novel.
The challenge is designed for writers of all levels, from those who are just starting out, to published authors who are looking for inspiration and motivation to start writing their next book.
The challenge starts on 13th July 2026.

What to expect:

Over three action-packed days, I’ll guide you through these essential elements of crafting a compelling children’s story.

The daily facebook lives, writing tasks and feedback from Imogen Cooper and her team of industry editors, are based on Golden Egg Academy’s collective decades of experience in the children’s publishing industry.

What to expect
Golden Egg Academy Founder, Imogen Cooper, will be live in the Facebook group every morning to talk about that day’s theme and announce the daily writing task. You will then have 24 hours to complete the task.
Imogen and her team of editors will provide comments on each writing task you submit, before the next Facebook live.
