The Big Honk

The Big Honk

We’re so glad that so many of you will be joining us at the historic Savile Club in Mayfair, London. Once again we will be in the stunning Ballroom at the top of the sweeping staircase. We have a whole host of VIPs for you to network with, not to mention a wonderful mix of Golden Egg Academy members, Golden Egg Foundations students and published Golden Eggers! Don’t forget to say hello to your editor and mingle to get to know some of your fellow Golden writers.

Our wonderful mix of publishers and agents are very enthusiastic about joining us to celebrate five years of the Golden Egg Academy. PLEASE DON’T FORGET that there’s strict etiquette at these literary events. Mingle and get to know the publishers and agents attending, building networks is the name of the game. Don’t bend their ear about your novel. If they want to know more they will ask or get in touch at a later date. Woo them, charm them, and they might want to hear from you when you’re ready for submission!

Down to the practicalities:
Arrival – collect your name badge from the table before sweeping up the impressive curved staircase and making your entrance! Don’t forget to help yourself to a complimentary glass of prosecco or sparkling non-alcoholic alternative on arrival. There will be a cash only bar serving a range of beverages. We will also have a small range of Golden Egg goodies on sale, including our all new (sturdier) Golden Egg tote bags! Canapes – there will be a selection of canapes circling the room. If you’re unsure of the ingredients just ask the waiter, we’ve tried to cater for common intolerances.Talks – there will be a few talks spread out across the evening from Mother Goose and one or two of our special guests. But don’t worry, we’ve left plenty of time for socialising! The End – Those of you joining us for dinner at Browns will want to congregate at the front of the Savile Club to embark on the ten minute walk across Mayfair.A polite request from Abigail – please, please, please leave behind your name tag holders before you exit The Savile – she will be very grateful if you remember to do this! You can keep the label inside if you wish as they’re made fresh each year. We’re looking forward to seeing you all this Friday in your best togs (keep an eye out for Mother Goose’s amazing outfit this year!).
